Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical

Location: Albany, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Shift: 12-hour days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
Guaranteed 48 hours per week (except orientation week)
Weekend rotation: every other weekend
Holiday requirement: work 2 out of 3 holidays
On-call/call back: rare
Break: 30 minutes
Float: Required to float to all acute care, cardiology, and Emergency Center for acute care patient holds; mid-shift floats uncommon and only for emergent needs
Patient Ratios: 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio for both day and night shifts
Nurse Aides: CNAs available, typically 1:8 to 1:10 ratio, sometimes used as sitters
Uniform: Caribbean blue or white scrubs
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech required (experience with HCA Meditech not accepted)

Required Qualifications

Current Georgia or compact RN license
AHA BLS certification
AHA NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Minimum 2+ years recent experience on a Medical-Surgical unit
Recent experience with Peripheral IV (PIV) insertions, Sickle Cell management, and tracheostomy care/management
Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment (no new travelers)

Preferred Qualifications

AHA ACLS certification highly preferred
Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

Radius rule: within 75 miles
Potential to float to a secondary campus located 1.8 miles away
