Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical

Location: Albany, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Shift: 12-hour days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
Guaranteed 48 hours per week (except orientation week)
Weekend rotation: every other weekend
Holiday requirement: work 2 out of 3 holidays
On-call/call back: rare
Break: 30 minutes
Float: Required to float to all acute care, cardiology, and Emergency Center for acute care patient holds; mid-shift floats uncommon and only for emergent needs
Patient Ratios: 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio for both day and night shifts
Nurse Aides: CNAs available, typically 1:8 to 1:10 ratio, sometimes used as sitters
Uniform: Caribbean blue or white scrubs
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech required (experience with HCA Meditech not accepted)

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Georgia
Med Surg (2 years of experience)
Med Surg experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Recent experience with Sickle Cell management
Recent experience with PIV insertions
Tracheostomy care and management experience
Experience with Meditech

Preferred Qualifications

AHA ACLS certification highly preferred
Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

Additional Information

Radius rule: within 75 miles
Potential to float to a secondary campus located 1.8 miles away
