Certified Surgical Technician

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)

Job Description

• Work primarily in a 7-room inpatient/outpatient operating room unit with occasional floating to a larger main OR (26 rooms, level one trauma).
• Experience with DaVinci XI robotic surgery is required.
• Scrubbing for posterior eye surgeries and eye trauma cases is a plus.

Required Qualifications

• Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• MMR: Positive titers within last 15 years required; booster protocol applies if titers are low
• Fit test for N95 respirators completed within 1 year prior to start
• Hepatitis B: Proof of full series or partial series with signed declination accepted; positive titers within 15 years accepted
• Varicella: Positive titers within last 15 years required; booster protocol applies if titers are low
• Tdap: Vaccination within the last 10 years required; no declinations accepted
• Tuberculosis testing: 2-step PPD or IGRA test with negative results within last 6 months; if positive, clear chest X-ray and current TB questionnaire required

Background & Compliance

• Criminal background check within 6 months prior to start, including Social Security trace and county searches for last 7 years, national sex offender registry, and OIG exclusion check.
• Ohio fingerprinting and FBI background checks required depending on residency duration in Ohio. Attestations allowed only for pending results with proof of completion.
• Employment and education verification required through third-party sources.
• Drug screen within 60 days prior to start (10-panel, no instant screens).
• Completion of safety and compliance training modules prior to clearance; annual renewal required.
• Skills checklist and competency exams specific to the department must be completed within 1 year prior to start.

Additional Notes

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced surgical environment with flexibility to float between operating rooms as needed.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
