Cardiac Cath Lab Technician
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (AM Shift)
Schedule:
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Two weekdays per week
- Every 3rd weekend on call (Friday 5:30 PM to Monday 7:00 AM)
- Weekend call requires out-of-hospital response within 30 minutes of activation
Job Description
- Perform cardiac catheterization lab procedures including angioplasty and percutaneous interventions
- Experience with Impella and IntraAortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
- Skilled in atherectomy devices/techniques (e.g., Rotablader)
- Knowledge of temporary venous pacemaker and Swan Ganz catheter placement
- Scrubbing technique for procedures encouraged
- Work with fluoroscopy systems such as Philips, Siemens, and GE (experience with these systems is not required)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist within the last year
- Certified with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience with angioplasty and percutaneous interventions
- Experience with Impella and IntraAortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
- Skilled in atherectomy devices/techniques (e.g., Rotablader)
- Knowledge of temporary venous pacemaker and Swan Ganz catheter placement
- Proficient in scrubbing technique for procedures
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Valid driver’s license or government-issued ID (address must match profile)
- Proof of immunizations and health screenings:
- MMR (2 vaccinations or positive titer; booster if needed)
- Varicella (2 vaccinations or positive titer; booster if needed)
- Hepatitis B (series of 3, positive titer, or declination accepted)
- Tuberculosis test (QuantiFERON/T-Spot or 2-step skin test within 60 days prior to start; chest x-ray if past positive)
- Annual Fit Test for N95 respirators or PAPR (3M N95 1860S, 1870+, or PAPR)
- Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Physical/Health statement within 1 year
- Criminal background check completed within 90 days prior to start (7-year county and national, SSN trace, sex offender registry, OIG, SAM, OFAC)
- 9-panel drug screen completed within 60 days prior to start (marijuana removed; must repeat with any break in service)
- Two professional references from a charge nurse or higher within the last 2 years
- Highest level of education verified (transcripts or third-party verification accepted)
- Recent color badge photo (within 6 months, no selfies or filters, solid background)
- Current skills checklist completed within 12 months prior to start
- ECG exam completion certificate required before start
- Internal competency checklist to be completed within 2 weeks after start
- Annual compliance training module completion certificate required
Additional Notes
- Candidate must be able to respond to weekend call within 30 minutes outside the hospital
- This position requires direct patient care and adherence to all health and safety protocols
- Prior travel experience is not specified as required for this role
