Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Warren, Minnesota
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Full-time position
• Night shifts
• Must be comfortable floating between Medical-Surgical and Emergency Room units
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Must hold a valid Minnesota nursing license
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (PALS preferred and must be kept up to date during contract)

Required Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS (Basic Life Support) preferably from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred and must be maintained during contract
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Competency Exam (as applicable)
• State License verification (primary source online verification)
• National Tech Certification (if applicable)

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Emergency Contact Form required prior to start
• Standard background check including:

  • 7-year SS Trace
  • County searches for last 7 years of residence/work/school
  • Nationwide and Sex Offender checks
• Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Minnesota DHS Net Study Fingerprint Clearance (mandatory and time-sensitive):

  • Candidate must complete the MN DHS Net Study Questionnaire immediately after signing contract
  • Fingerprinting must be completed within 2 weeks of registration
  • Candidates cannot start with fingerprints pending unless they have clearance or an approved “more time needed” letter
  • DHS clearance required for all agency employees, including non-clinical staff working through the agency

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year or negative chest X-ray if past positive PPD
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (titer, vaccination, or history of chickenpox)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination (required during flu season: Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (facility review required for exemptions)
• 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
• Facility requires a secondary on-site drug screen and completion of HR documents prior to start

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years)
• Annual skills checklist
• CNAs must complete 12 hours of Alzheimer/Dementia/Elder Abuse training annually (if applicable)

Notes

• Candidates must comply with all Minnesota state-specific requirements, especially fingerprinting and background checks.
• Floating between Med Surg and ER requires flexibility and adaptability.
• Night shift availability is mandatory.

This position is ideal for experienced RNs licensed in Minnesota who are comfortable working in fast-paced environments and meeting comprehensive compliance and health requirements.
