Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Job Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 year required
• First-timers: Not accepted
• Required Skills:

  • EPIC experience
  • Cardiac Telemetry experience
• Patient Ratios: 1:5
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period (schedule determined by unit needs)
• On-call: Not required
• Float Requirement: Yes, may float to other units or locations within the system
• Block Scheduling: Not guaranteed

Licensure & Certifications

• License: Florida State or compact license required at time of submission (pending licenses not accepted)
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (AHA Instructor or Provider, RQI accepted)
  • BLS (AHA Instructor or Provider, RQI accepted)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (must be renewed annually)
• Preferred Certification: CPI
• Additional Certifications: May be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM for Labor & Delivery)

Special Requirements

• Two professional references from authority figures (Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director) within the last 12 months
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (10/31 - 3/31) unless medically or religiously exempt
• Contracted hours are guaranteed
• Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers

Background & Compliance Checks

• Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 90 days of start
• Monthly HHS/OIG checks
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting required if no prior clearance)
• Education verification required; certain institutions are not accepted (facility-specific list applies)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 6 months prior to start (valid for 5 years once on file)
• Fit mask test within 12 months prior to start (strict shaving policy, specific mask types required)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start (labs valid for 5 years)
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Titers required within 5 years for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (must include marijuana; witnessed urine collection required for instant tests)
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption documentation required during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required but recommended if already on file

Facility-Specific Documents & Compliance

• Completion of facility-required documents including job description acknowledgment, confidentiality agreement, values, and badge form
• Radiation badge monitoring form required for applicable departments (Radiology, Cath Lab, OR, Pain Clinic)
• Flu exemption forms must be submitted by deadline prior to start
• Auto insurance required for Home Health roles

This position requires a highly qualified RN with specific cardiac telemetry and EPIC experience, adherence to strict licensure, certification, and health compliance standards, and flexibility to float within the hospital system.
