Job Opportunity: Surgical Services (Travel/Contract)

Location: Bethpage, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

Requirements & Qualifications

Licensure & Certifications

• Valid State License required within 30 days of start (license issues will result in automatic cancellation)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for all ER RN positions; confirm if required for Surgical Services
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required for all RN positions
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit (refer to specific unit guidelines)

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Surgical Services or comparable/higher acuity specialty
• No explicit prior travel experience required

Background & Screening

• 7-year background check required within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Background check must include:

  • SS Trace
  • County search
  • National Sex Offender Registry
  • National Criminal
  • FACIS Level 3
  • OFAC
  • OMIG (NY Medicaid exclusions)
  • OIG and SAM
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
• State-specific Medicaid Exclusion List check (NY OMIG) updated annually

Health & Immunization

• Facility-specific physical exam form required, completed by a physician within 30 days of start
• Fit mask test (Halyard Fluidshield N95 or 3M 1860) within 12 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (antibody and antigen results required)
  • Varicella
• Flu vaccine required annually (October 1 - April 30), with case-by-case exemptions
• COVID vaccine series preferred

Drug Testing

• Standard 9-panel drug screen required within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Rapid drug tests not accepted

Documentation & Competencies

• 2 clinical references required (supervisor level or above)
• Employment history covering 7 years with explanations for any gaps
• Skills checklist current within the last year and applicable to the position
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam with minimum score of 80%
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam with minimum score of 80% (may be required depending on unit)

Additional Notes

• Interview availability in EST required for the next two business days for submission
• All documentation must be completed and uploaded as per facility requirements prior to start
• Physical exam and fit test cannot be completed onsite
