Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Clinton, Maryland
Specialty: Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele RN)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, 0700-1930
• Unit: Adult Medical-Surgical/Sub-Specialty Telemetry Unit (68 beds)
• Patient Care: Complex medical needs including ventilator management, continuous BiPaP, continuous cardiac monitoring, and pre/post cardiac interventions
• Float: Within skillset required
• Schedule: Every other weekend required

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years in MS/Tele, Telemetry, and Cardiac Tele experience
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC certified
• Skills:

  • Successful completion of Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:

    • Minimum overall score of 80%
    • 100% score on lethal rhythms section
  • 12-lead EKG experience required
  • Ventilator management experience required
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Prior Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)

Compliance & Documentation

• Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
• Education verification of highest degree required by position
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
• Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray as applicable
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Varicella documentation or titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (strict guidelines)
• N95 Fit Test within 9 months and updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)

Competency Exams & Training

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher within 3 years)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (Relias Dysrhythmia Basics A exam) with annual updates required
• Color Blind Testing (online or in-person)
• Competency Exam (80% or higher within 3 years)
• Facility-specific orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required annually

References & Work History

• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, licenses, and contact information
• Verification of minimum 2 years employment in the past 7 years, preferably the most recent 2 years

• Locals within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate (not relevant for pay details)
• Float within skillset required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred but not mandatory
• First-time travelers accepted; no prior travel experience required
