Work Setting & Unit Details

  • Units: Medical-Surgical (MS), MS Telemetry, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Neuro ICU, Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU)
  • Primary floating assignment: ICU Float, with potential to float to all MS, MS/Tele, PCU, ICU units within the hospital
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios:
    • ICU: 1:2-3
    • PCU: 1:4-5
    • MS/MS Tele: 1:5-6
  • Electronic Health Record System: Epic (required)
  • Other systems: Pyxis, SBAR
  • Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Schedule & Work Conditions

  • Return to Office (RTO) deadline: Maximum 7 days
  • Weekend shifts: Every other weekend (approximately 6 weekends in a 13-week contract)
  • Floating: Required
  • Call: None
  • Holiday Work:
    • If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it
    • If 2 major holidays fall, expected to work both
    • If 3 major holidays fall, expected to work 2 of them
  • Major holidays include: New Year’s Eve/Day, Spring Break (2nd week April), Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day

Compliance & Orientation

  • Full compliance required to start on time
  • Non-compliance results in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
  • Number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8 weeks)

Required Documentation & Health Requirements

  • Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start
  • Education Verification: Required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
  • State License: Georgia RN license verification within 30 days prior to start
  • NURSYS Verification: Annual verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Physical Exam: Required within 12 months prior to start
  • Negative TB Test or Chest X-Ray: Within 12 months prior to start; if positive history, additional documentation required
  • TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
  • Immunizations:
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B series or signed declination
    • Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start; cannot start with results pending
  • Color Blind Testing: Required; alternative assessment available if needed

Competency Exams

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Tele, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Cardiac Tele/Step-down, ICU, PCU)
  • General Competency Exam (required for Nursing by Aya)

Additional Notes

  • Locals accepted at the same rate
  • Floating across multiple units is mandatory
  • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies including Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
