Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Hospice)

Location: Fishersville, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (No call, no holidays)
• Weekend availability is not required but preferred in case of need
• Alternate schedule if working weekends: Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM

• Outpatient - Home Care
• Acute Care Hospital environment with 255 staffed beds
• Documentation system: Meditech HomeCare

Required Qualifications

Licensure

• Valid Virginia RN license or Compact State RN license

Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Hospice)
• Required years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 2 years typical for hospice travel RN roles (no conflicting data)

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC accepted
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for applicable units (check unit-specific requirements)

• Other certifications (NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke, CPI, MAB) as applicable based on unit assignment

Background Checks & Compliance

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
• HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
• Virginia State Police background check performed by facility
• Fingerprinting per Virginia VSP National Criminal Background Check (tracking only)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, renewed annually
• Fit mask testing (N95 preferred), updated annually
• Tdap vaccine within past 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (or as required)
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity via vaccine or titer
• Hepatitis B immunity or declination
• Varicella immunity via vaccine or titer
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (including marijuana; zero tolerance policy)
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions allowed with facility-specific forms)

Documentation & Other Requirements

• 2 professional references
• Current application/resume
• Skills checklist updated annually
• Completion and acknowledgment of facility-specific policies and forms (e.g., HIPAA, confidentiality, dress code, social media, compliance, masking, standards of conduct) prior to start
