Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (RRT)

Location: Battle Creek, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Details

• Must be available for the first two weeks of the assignment
• Flu vaccine required; medical/religious exemptions allowed (must submit exemption within 48 hours of signing)
• Patient Ratios (Nights): 1:3-4
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• No call or float required

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Michigan License (must have in hand)
• Preferred Certifications:

  • ACLS (AHA)
  • BLS (AHA)
  • NRP (AAP or American Medical Learning Center)
  • PALS (AHA)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required for ER positions
• Other certifications as applicable:

  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (AHA, APEX, Bluecloud) – must be updated annually
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) as applicable
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required

Specialty Experience

• Respiratory Therapist (RRT) position
• Years of experience: Not explicitly stated; default to standard for RRT positions (typically minimum 1-2 years)
• No explicit prior travel experience required

Equipment Experience

• Experience with: Aerogen, V60, PB 980, Hamilton T1 ventilators

Immunization & Health Requirements

• Flu vaccine or approved exemption required
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Proof of Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (at least one prior Tdap)
• Negative TB test (PPD or Q Gold/T-Spot) within 30 days of start; if positive, chest x-ray and TB questionnaire required
• Annual TB questionnaire required
• Proof of Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity (2 vaccines or positive titer; exemptions not accepted)
• Hepatitis B: titer, series, or facility declination required
• 10-panel drug test including Marijuana/THC within 30 days of start (no exceptions)
• Fit mask test required (Honeywell DC365N95HC), with appointment scheduled and completed on-site

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background check within 45 days of start, including:

  • SSN Trace
  • National Criminal Search
  • National Sex Offender Search
  • Statewide searches
  • Education verification
  • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) search for Home Health (if applicable)
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Michigan LARA fingerprinting required within 45 days of start for certain positions (check unit description)
• Michigan Central Registry Clearance required for RRT and pediatric placements (wet signature required; time sensitive)
• Education verification required (copy of highest degree or diploma)
• Complete application/resume with full 7 years work history, no gaps (dated MM/YYYY acceptable)
• One professional reference from supervisor/manager required

Additional Requirements

• Candidates must review and sign the facility's Code of Conduct and Appearance Standards Policy prior to start
• Hepatitis B declination form required if declining vaccine or titer
• Fit test appointment instructions must be followed and documented
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam completed within 1 year prior to assignment with passing score of at least 80%
• Competency exam in specialty completed within 1 year prior to start with passing score of at least 80%
• Color Blind Testing required for laboratory settings only

Notes

• Locals within 50 miles may be eligible for a different rate (not applicable here)
• No call or float responsibilities
• Weekend work every other weekend
