Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Dubois, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Requirements

• License: PA or Compact nursing license in hand
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
  • NIH Stroke Certification required (must be renewed annually)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Shift/Floating: Float required
• Schedule: Every other weekend
• Dress Code: Scrubs in navy blue or white
• Candidate Notes: First-time travelers are welcome; no local candidates within a 50-mile radius

Required Background Checks & Verifications

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• 7-year criminal background check including:

  • SS Trace
  • County searches for last 7 years of residence/work/school
  • Nationwide search
  • Sex offender registry
  • PA Statewide Patch Certificate
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check
• HHS/OIG check
• Education verification (transcripts, diplomas, or 3rd party verification)
• NURSYS verification for RN license
• PA Child Abuse Search (Childline) within 1 year of start
• PA FBI Fingerprinting within 12 months of start (must be completed in PA)

Required Competencies & Exams

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Competency Exam (as applicable)

Additional Certifications (as applicable)

• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification required for Emergency Department, Behavioral Health, and Acute Care Units (annual certification required)
• Comprehensive Crisis Management certification accepted as MAB/CPI equivalent (annual certification required)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 6 months or chest X-ray within 5 years
• Tdap vaccination within the past 10 years (declination accepted with form)
• Immunizations or proof of immunity (2 vaccines or positive titer) or declination form for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination (mask required if declined during flu season Nov-April)
• COVID vaccination or facility-specific declination

Documentation & Other Requirements

• Passport-style photo for badge (no filters)
• Completion of facility-specific orientation packet and acknowledgements prior to start
• Completion of medical surveillance checklist prior to start
• Completion of bloodborne pathogen quiz prior to start
• References: 2 professional references within last 3 years
• Annual skills checklist

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required
• Candidates must complete all required background checks and health documentation before start
• Fingerprinting must be completed in Pennsylvania; mailing fingerprint packets to candidates is not allowed
