Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (Travel/Contract)

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Setting: Outpatient Clinic (No hospital coverage)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5x8 hours, no call, no weekends
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work primarily involves pulmonary function testing in a clinic setting.
• Patient population includes those with common respiratory distress diagnoses such as pneumonia, asthma, tuberculosis, emphysema, COPD, chest infections, lung nodules, etc.
• Responsibilities include oxygen assessments, 2 channel monitoring, 6-minute walk tests, long and short pulmonary function tests (PFTs), and arterial blood gases (ABGs).
• Equipment used: PFT equipment, NIOX, 2 channel monitors.
• Skills required: pulmonary function test lab experience, ARDS, aspiration, bronchoscopy, COVID, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, hand-held nebulizer, BiPAP, CPAP, ABG interpretation, basic EKG.
• Dress code: Ceil blue scrubs.

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics specialty.
• Prior travel experience: Not required (1st time travelers accepted).

Certifications

• Required:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Preferred: Basic Life Support (BLS)

Licensure

• Pending state license is acceptable.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• I9 verification
• E-Verify compliance
• Residency Declaration Form (if working on a compact license in a different state)
• Criminal background check within 12 months (including SSN trace, 7-year county residency/work history, nationwide search, sex offender search)
• State-specific background checks as applicable (Wisconsin caregiver screening)
• Primary source license verification prior to start
• Fit mask testing onsite during first week of orientation (annual requirement)
• Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
• Drug screening within 12 months of start
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (annual requirement)
• COVID vaccination preferred
• OSHA Respirator Clearance prior to start (required for fit testing)
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and agreements prior to start
• Skills checklist and competency exams as required

Additional Notes

• All work is outpatient clinic-based; no hospital or inpatient coverage.
• Candidates will be fit tested onsite during orientation.
• Various health and safety documentation must be current and compliant before starting.
• Orientation checklists and post-start requirements must be completed and submitted timely.
• Exemptions for flu and COVID vaccines require proper documentation and annual renewal.
