Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: York, Pennsylvania

Job Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 10-hour shifts between 6 AM - 7 PM
  • Schedule: Weekends and holidays as needed
  • Call: Minimal call required, mostly to assist full-time staff
  • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
  • Floating: Not applicable

Unit Information

  • Unit: Invasive Cardiology

  • Description:

    • 4 dedicated Cardiac Catheterization Labs and 2 Electrophysiology labs
    • 23 prep/recovery bays
    • Performs over 6,000 procedures annually
    • Advanced cardiovascular treatments including:
      • Complex coronary procedures
      • Ventricular assist device (VAD)/ECMO
      • Structural heart procedures (TAVR, left atrial appendage occlusion, PFO/ASD closure, mitral valve clipping)
      • Complex atrial and ventricular ablations
      • Pacemaker/ICD implant & explant
      • Cardioversion
      • Pulmonary artery pressure sensor implantation
      • Peripheral intervention and pulmonary embolectomy procedures
  • Additional Info:

    • May care for COVID-19 patients
    • Tobacco and fragrance-free facility

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years
  • Certifications: ACLS & BLS required
  • Electronic Medical Record: EPIC experience required

Documentation & Compliance Requirements

Background Checks

  • 7-year criminal background check (updated annually)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
  • PA FBI Fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
  • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year of start; must be finalized prior to start
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required within 5 years; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days

Certifications & Verifications

  • ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
  • BLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
  • State nursing license primary source verification
  • NURSYS verification for RN
  • Education verification (highest level)
  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing (required for all RNs except OR and Home Health)
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail with remediation process)

Health Documents

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series)
    • TDAP within 10 years
    • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days; PPD not accepted
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters as needed
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters as needed
  • Flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccine or valid exemption/declination accepted
  • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
  • Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually

Facility Specific Documents

  • Passport-style photo for badge (professional appearance, solid background)
  • Medical Statement Non-Employee Ability to Work form (preferred within 90 days of start)
  • Review and sign:
    • Commitment to Health & Wellness
    • Code of Conduct
    • Confidentiality Agreement
    • Non-Employee Affidavit
  • I9 and documentation attestations completed by agency
  • Completion of Learning Management System (LMS) modules prior to start (PC/laptop only)
  • New hire orientation required by end of first day

References & History

  • Two professional references within 3 years required
  • Most recent resume/application required
  • Annual skills checklist required
  • Performance evaluations completed onsite by unit managers during assignment
