Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Saint Louis, Missouri
• PICU
• 3x12 rotating shifts: day 7:00–19:30 and night 19:00–7:30
• 1:2 patient ratio
• 36 hours per week
• 10-week contract

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (1.5 years of experience)
• PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with post-operative care
• Experience with respiratory failure management
• Experience caring for liver transplant patients
• Experience with sepsis management
• Experience with bedside procedures

Preferred

• Level I Trauma experience
• Experience with post op, respiratory failure, liver transplants, sepsis, and post BMT

Clinical Expectations

• Will work with COVID patients
• No burns; stabilize only
• No hearts
• Bedside surgeries/procedures

Float Scope

• May float within scope to NICU, CVICU, Stepdown, PICU overflow floor with low-acuity MS patients, and RN Assist for 1:1 observation support

Facility Notes

• Children’s acute care teaching hospital
• 40 staffed beds on the unit
• EPIC charting
• Any scrub color, or St. Louis Children’s Hospital T-shirts/jackets
• Local candidates are not accepted; 75-mile radius rule applies
• First-timers accepted
• On-call not required
• Block schedule not accommodated
