Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist (Travel/Contract)
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist proficient in both peripheral vascular IR and neuro vascular IR procedures. First-time travelers are accepted.
Key Responsibilities
- Scrub and circulate in IR procedures including:
- Stents, Angioplasty, Angiograms
- Nephrogram, Peripherals, Drainages
- Upper and Lower Extremity, Abdomen and Pelvic vascular studies
- Venous Access, Neurological Studies
- Work in a Level 1 trauma, PE, and stroke center with 4 IR rooms (2 single plane and 2 biplane Siemens c-arms).
- Collaborate with another IR tech in each room (one scrubs, one circulates).
- Participate in procedures such as angiograms, embolizations, nephrostomy, IVC filter placement, PE thrombectomy, intracranial thrombectomy, stent placements, and central line insertions.
- Call requirement: On call every 3rd or 4th weekend from Friday 5:30 PM through Monday 7:00 AM.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Indiana
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, with experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- Proficiency in peripheral vascular interventional radiology
- Proficiency in neurovascular interventional radiology
- Ability to scrub both peripheral and neuro cases confidently
Prior Travel Experience
- No prior travel experience required. First-time travelers are accepted.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including criminal, sex offender, and education verification.
- Drug screening (10 panel) within 12 months of start.
- Physical exam within 12 months of start.
- Fit mask test within 12 months (specific approved respirators required).
- Immunizations and titers:
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations).
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations or history accepted).
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap preferred but not required.
- TB testing (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year of start.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
- Color blind exam (Ishihara or equivalent) with 100% minimum score.
- References: Minimum 2 from recent employment with supervisory titles.
- Skills checklist and competency exams required annually.
Additional Information
- Call-in shifts must be made up or added to the end of the contract depending on FTE status.
- Orientation includes completion of facility-specific safety and compliance modules.
- Must complete facility-specific forms and acknowledgments prior to start.
