Job Description

• Position open for 13 or 26 weeks (13 weeks currently available)
• Accepting first-time travelers with a minimum of 1 year of experience
• Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) role
• Must have experience specifically in Home Health PTA (no inpatient or outpatient)
• OASIS experience required
• No requirement to report to home base before or after shifts
• Driving approximately 45-60 miles per day covering Newport News and Yorktown
• Work schedule: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
• No weekends or on-call duties
• Approximately 5 patients per day (30 points per week)
• Office closed on major holidays
• Mileage reimbursed at IRS rate

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Virginia
• Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapy Assistant experience in a Home Health setting within the last year
• BLS certification
• Experience with OASIS

Additional Requirements & Compliance

• Must have a valid driver’s license and government-issued photo ID
• Background check: 7-year criminal history, driving record, and sex offender check required
• Minimum 3 years driving experience required; must be at least 21 years old (25 if transporting patients)
• Physical exam within the last 12 months
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility policy
• Required vaccinations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu (seasonal), and COVID (preferred)
• Drug screening within the last 12 months
• Completion of facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreement, dress code, safety policies, and others prior to start
• Professional references (2) and employment application/resume required

Shift Details

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• No weekends or call required
• Office closed on major holidays

Notes

• This position is suitable for first-time travel therapists
• Prior travel experience is not required
• Mileage reimbursement provided
• Candidate will cover a geographic area including Newport News and Yorktown
