Job Opportunity: Cardiovascular Scrub Tech

Location: Hazard, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position requires 2 years of current and previous experience as a Cardiovascular Scrub Tech.
• Must have experience with Fresh Heart cases.
• Shift: 8-hour shifts.
• On-call required: approximately 2 days per week, every other week.
• Floating within scope of practice is required.
• Every other weekend shift required.

Required Qualifications

• CVOR Technologist with 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year.
• Experience as a Cardiovascular Technologist.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Orientation & Scheduling

• Orientation sessions are held bi-weekly.
• Start date is immediate upon job acceptance.
• Assignment confirmation must be submitted within 24 hours of offer acceptance.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Unexpired government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID).
• Background checks including national criminal search, sex offender registry, fugitive database, county searches, and others as required.
• Education verification.
• Various certifications including:

  • ACLS (AHA) – required for all RNs except Psych and certain Med/Surg units (may pend with certificate of completion).
  • BLS (AHA) – required for all RNs, Respiratory Therapists, and CT Techs.
  • Other certifications as applicable.
• Competency exams including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG (except certain units), and core competency parts I-III.
• Annual physical exam or physician’s note stating clearance to work without restrictions.
• Fit mask testing onsite (PAPRs not accommodated).
• Immunizations and health documents:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (valid within 10 years).
  • Negative TB test (QuantiFERON blood test within 1 year; T-Spot/PPD not accepted).
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) proof of vaccination or positive titer.
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination.
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
• Drug testing within 30 days of start (specific panel required).
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.
• References: 2 references within 1 year of start date required (supervisor or higher; one may be Charge RN).
• Employment application/resume with education and work history.
• Skills checklist and work history verification (7 years) required.
• State-specific registry checks as applicable.

Additional Notes

• Floating and on-call responsibilities are part of the role.
• Candidates must not submit applications to multiple jobs simultaneously.
• Compliance with all documentation and credentialing requirements is mandatory prior to start.
