Job Opportunity: Medical Lab Technician

Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Perform and evaluate a variety of technical laboratory procedures with precision and accuracy.
• Utilize quality control techniques using automated, semi-automated, and manual methods.
• Conduct diagnostic procedures in multiple laboratory sections including chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis, and blood bank.
• May occasionally collect blood samples from patients of all ages using various collection devices and techniques.
• Other duties as assigned by laboratory leadership.
• Shift: Saturday, Sunday, Monday from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Initial training on a 4x10 day shift schedule (8:00 AM start) for the first week of assignment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Lab Technician.
• Medical Lab Technician experience within the last year.
• A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or an Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a closely related field such as Biology or Chemistry.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Proof of identity and eligibility to work (I-9, government-issued photo ID).
• Background check including 7-year criminal history and education verification.
• Current certification and licensure verification.
• Transcript or diploma required.
• Drug screening within one year of start.
• Immunizations and health screenings including TB test, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, seasonal flu vaccination or declination, and COVID-19 vaccination or exemption.
• Physical exam within the last 12 months.
• Professional references (2 required, 3 preferred).
• Completion of required competencies and orientation safety acknowledgments.

Additional Information

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• Training will be provided for the initial week on day shift.
• Must be willing to work specified weekend shifts.
