Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist

Job Details

Clinical Focus

  • Procedures include SBRT, ABC treatment, pediatric, conformal, electron treatments, and TBI.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiation Therapist license in Washington
  • Minimum 2 years of Radiation Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ARRT (Radiologic Technologist) certification
  • ARRT (Therapy) certification

Work Environment

  • Magnet, teaching, short-term acute care facility
  • Charting system: EPIC
  • Scrub color: Any (scrubs provided for OR personnel)
  • Parking: Daily fee applies

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, sex offender search, and state-specific searches
  • Education verification or diploma/transcript required
  • Physical exam and drug screening required (Aya-specific, not facility)
  • Fit mask test within 9-12 months of start (N95 or PAPR if failed)
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • TDAP within 10 years
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B immunity or declination
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination (history of disease not accepted at this location)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption/declination
    • COVID vaccination or declination documentation
  • Facility-specific training and agreements required prior to start
  • Suicide prevention training required for nurses using multi-state licenses in Washington
  • EPIC integration video and attestation required for all RNs

Additional Notes

  • Guaranteed hours may be adjusted based on census; possible call-offs or on-call in 4-hour increments up to one shift in a 2-week cycle
  • No radiation badges provided by agency for new candidates; must obtain from facility
  • Performance evaluations requested at end of assignment (facility-specific)

This position is suitable for radiation therapists with at least 2 years of experience who are comfortable working weekends and floating within the hospital. First-time travelers are accepted. Washington state licensure and ARRT credentials are mandatory.
