Registered Nurse — Med/Surg Telemetry

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Wilmington, North Carolina
• Night shift: 4x12 hours, 18:45–07:15
• 13–20 week contract
• Self-scheduling
• Patient ratio: 1:6
• No call
• Every other weekend
• May be required to float to another campus
• Must be able to work holidays

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS
• Charge experience
• Community hospital experience
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and post-cardiac/post-MI care

Clinical Experience Highlights

• Med/Surg and telemetry care
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Remote telemetry monitoring
• Rapid response/code team support
• IV therapy, central line care, PICC management, and phlebotomy
• Blood product administration
• Heparin, insulin, and PCA management
• Respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula
• Wound care and wound vac management
• Care for patients with renal failure, bowel obstruction, GI bleed, sepsis, COPD, pneumonia, CHF, UTI, dementia, and surgical recovery needs

Schedule Notes

• Up to 7 days of requested time off allowed
• 36- or 48-hour contracts accepted

Unit Details

• Orientation: 24 hours
• Scrubs: navy blue or white
• Medication/documentation system includes Pyxis

Additional Notes

• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates are accepted
• Candidate may be assigned to storm or hurricane response duties during a disaster event
