Registered Nurse — Med/Surg Telemetry
Overview
- Travel/contract role in Wilmington, North Carolina
- Night shift: 4x12 hours, 18:45–07:15
- 13–20 week contract
- Self-scheduling
- Patient ratio: 1:6
- No call
- Every other weekend
- May be required to float to another campus
- Must be able to work holidays
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS
- Charge experience
- Community hospital experience
- Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and post-cardiac/post-MI care
Clinical Experience Highlights
- Med/Surg and telemetry care
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Remote telemetry monitoring
- Rapid response/code team support
- IV therapy, central line care, PICC management, and phlebotomy
- Blood product administration
- Heparin, insulin, and PCA management
- Respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula
- Wound care and wound vac management
- Care for patients with renal failure, bowel obstruction, GI bleed, sepsis, COPD, pneumonia, CHF, UTI, dementia, and surgical recovery needs
Schedule Notes
- Up to 7 days of requested time off allowed
- 36- or 48-hour contracts accepted
Unit Details
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Scrubs: navy blue or white
- Medication/documentation system includes Pyxis
Additional Notes
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Local candidates are accepted
- Candidate may be assigned to storm or hurricane response duties during a disaster event
