Role Overview
- Travel/Contract Registered Nurse position in Columbus, Ohio.
- Day or night shifts available: 3x12 hours.
- Floating is required to other MedSurg Oncology units.
- Staffing goal is 1:4, with ratios that can go to 1:5.
- Weekends are variable based on unit needs.
- No set or blocked scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio.
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year.
- 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience.
- BLS issued by American Heart Association.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Telemetry interpretation.
- Telemetry monitoring.
- RN license verification.
- NURSYS verification for RNs.
- Completion of the unit-specific competency exam.
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam prior to start.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam within 1 year of start and updated annually.
Preferred Qualifications
- Oncology experience.
- ONS Chemo.
- Previous travel experience.
Unit Details
- Adult and geriatric patients.
- Cares for solid tumor cancer patients across the cancer journey, including new diagnosis, treatment, and end-of-life care.
- Common diagnoses include breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancer, plus encounters for antineoplastic chemotherapy.
- Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls.
- Cares for patients with true med-surg issues.
Additional Notes
- EPIC is used for computerized charting.
