Step Down RN

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Dayton, Ohio
• 13-week contract
• Night shift: 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• Target patient ratio is 1:4, with ratios up to 1:5–6
• Must be available to work every other weekend and every other holiday

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Stepdown (1 year of experience)
• Stepdown experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Experience with stable chronic ventilators
• Experience with Epic
• Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting
• NIH Stroke Certification
• Current resume/application
• 2 references from within 2 years of start, with 1 from a Manager, Supervisor, or Charge RN
• Skills checklist within 1 year prior to documentation due date and updated annually
• Current Nursys verification
• Government-issued photo ID
• E-Verify documentation
• Proof of name change, if applicable
• 7-year criminal background check
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check
• HHS/OIG check
• Physical exam within 2 years of start
• Negative TB or chest X-ray
• Drug screen within 12 months prior to documentation due date
• Annual health questionnaire
• Candidate agreement
• Respiratory protection medical questionnaire and clearance
• RespSafety clearance within 1 year of start
• Work history verification only if 2 professional references cannot be obtained

Preferred

• IV Start
• Level 1 or 2 experience
• Travel experience

Floating

• First to float at the system’s discretion
• May float within specialty clusters
• If assigned to the main hospital, may also float to the main campus, south campus, and north campus

Additional Notes

• 48-hour contracts pay overtime after 48 hours
• RTO must be requested with the initial submittal; no RTO is added after offer
• The assignment may be canceled with 2 weeks’ notice without fee or fine
• 2 shifts may be canceled per 13-week contract due to low census
