Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse

Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Cath Lab)
• Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (may change during interview)
• Hours: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day
• On-Call: Yes, with weekend coverage as needed
• Block Schedule: Not accommodated
• Locals: Not accepted (must be outside a 50-mile radius)
• Start Date: ASAP

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
• Completion of at least 1 prior travel assignment
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or ARC certification required for Cath Lab
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification: Required and must be renewed annually (except pediatric facilities)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 60 days of start including statewide, county, federal, and education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and annually thereafter
• Sex offender search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search (TN only) required
• Two recent professional references required
• Skills checklist and internal evaluation required if employed with agency for one year or more

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year; if positive, clear chest X-ray within 2 years plus annual TB questionnaire
• Proof of immunizations or positive antibody titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
• Hepatitis B: Proof of 3-shot series, positive titer, or signed declination
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30)
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending results accepted)
• Fit test for 3M N-95 masks within 1 year of start (must pass without limitations)

Facility and Dress Code Notes

• Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center
• Scrub colors: Navy blue for RNs; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
• Business casual dress with white lab coat for RN Case Managers (not applicable here)

Additional Documentation Required

• Two forms of government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license, social security card)
• Photo for badge: recent (within 6 months), shoulders up, forward facing, no hats/head coverings except for religious reasons, no glasses with glare, neutral expression
• Signed confidentiality acknowledgment prior to start
• Submission packet including application, references, skills checklist, license, and certification information

Notes

• All Return to Office (RTO) restrictions must be included at time of submission
• Candidates must comply fully with all documentation and certification requirements before start date; no exceptions for pending compliance
• Flu exemption requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may delay start date
