Job Overview

  • Travel/contract RN position in Minneapolis, Minnesota
  • Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • First-time travelers not accepted
  • Local candidates not accepted within a 100-mile radius
  • Pending license accepted

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Minnesota
  • CVICU (2 years of experience)
  • CVICU experience within the last year
  • ACLS
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Required skills include:
    • PA catheter interpretation and analysis
    • LVAD/RVAD/Impella
    • IABP

Preferred Experience

  • Open heart recovery directly from the OR
  • CRRT with Prismaflex
  • ECMO

Clinical Setting

  • Float within the ICU community as needed, including CVICU, Med/Surg ICU, and Neuro ICU
  • Ratios: 1:2
  • Short-term acute care, Magnet, teaching, Level III trauma facility
  • 672 staffed beds

Additional Notes

  • On-call not required
  • Block scheduling not available
  • RTO ideally no more than 5 days
  • Navy blue scrubs
  • Charting system: Excellian/Epic

Compliance / Pre-Start Requirements

  • Criminal background check required within 1 year of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM required within 1 year of start
  • HHS/OIG required within 1 year of start
  • Fingerprinting / Minnesota DHS NetStudy clearance required
  • Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
  • Tdap required
  • Negative TB or chest X-ray required
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B documentation required
  • Drug testing required within 1 year of start
  • Respiratory safety clearance required
  • References: 2 required
  • Skills checklist required annually
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required
  • Competency exam required
  • Pre-orientation modules must be completed before start
  • Photo for badge required within 48 hours of signing
