Medical Surgical Nurse

Job Overview

• Location: Alexander City, Alabama
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Schedule: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Weekly hours: 36
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Unit: Med/Surg and TCU (inpatient rehab swing beds)
• Local candidates: Accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Alabama
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• 1 year of Med Surg experience
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing

Assignment Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID
• E-Verify proof or attestation
• 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years
• Social Security trace, county, nationwide, sex offender, and FACIS Level 3 checks
• Education verification, diploma, or full transcripts
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start and at each renewal/extension
• HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start and at each renewal/extension
• Primary source license verification
• Nursys verification for RNs
• 2 clinical references
• Complete application/resume
• Skills checklist for the applicable unit, updated annually

Health and Compliance

• Initial physical, updated annually
• N95 fit mask documentation within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Drug screen within the last 12 months
• Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity documentation
• Flu vaccination or acceptable declination/documentation
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption documentation
• APS clearance requirements under Alabama Shirley’s Law
