Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Memphis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Work primarily in Labor and Delivery with responsibilities including nursery, labor, and mother/baby care.
• Must be willing and able to float to Med Surg unit when there are no OB patients, providing support and patient care.
• Orientation to Med Surg will be provided; prior Med Surg experience is not required.
• Position requires working at least half the time on Med Surg.
• Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM).
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.
• Electronic Medical Record system used: Meditech.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience.
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year.
• Med Surg experience.
• Post Partum experience.
• Certifications required:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Experience & Travel Requirements

• First-time travel nurses are welcome.
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate.
• Prior travel experience is not required.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Valid photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Employment eligibility verification (I-9 or equivalent).
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year work and residence history.
  • Sex offender registry check.
  • Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
  • Missouri-specific Highway Patrol and EDL searches prior to start and updated quarterly.
• Health and immunization documentation:

  • Physical exam signed by MD, PA, or NP.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; TB questionnaire updated annually.
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Hepatitis B (or signed declination).
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or mask compliance during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31).
  • COVID-19 vaccination required; medical or religious exemptions accepted.
• Drug screening: 11-panel test within 30 days of start, with MRO process. New screen required if break in employment >3 months.
• Professional references: Two required, one within the last 12 months, both from supervisory roles.
• Performance evaluation from most recent assignment if employed with agency over one year.
• Signed employment application (resume alone not sufficient).
• Skills checklist and competency exam in specialty area, updated annually.
• Verification of 2 years of relevant work experience within the last 3 years.

• Facility is a 25-bed critical access hospital.
• Shared housing is available with a rate adjustment.
