Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical

Job Overview

• Work on Medical/Surgical units with varied patient populations including cardiac cath patients, strokes, CHF, COVID, pneumonia, dialysis (CAPD), general surgery, and total joint replacements (hip and knee).
• Units include a 23-bed medical floor and a 20-bed medical/surgical floor.
• Shifts available: Days (7a - 7p) or Nights (7p - 7a), with holiday and weekend rotations.
• Weekend differentials and shift differentials apply.
• Opportunity for weekend package: 4 consecutive weekends on 5N Med/Surg days with every 5th weekend off.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care using the nursing process and clinical skills specific to the assigned unit.
• Consult hospital resources to provide specialized patient education.
• Prioritize patient and workplace safety by preventing errors, accidents, and infections; report concerns immediately.
• Complete documentation promptly to maintain accurate legal records of patient care.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and share knowledge through networking and research.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Must obtain BSN within 12 years of hire.
• Current, active Registered Nurse license in Iowa in good standing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Work Schedule

• Full-time or part-time options.
• 8-hour shifts, varied between day and night.
• Holiday and weekend rotations required (including every 3rd weekend for full-time).
