Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER) (Nights)

Location: Bay City, Michigan

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Coordinate total nursing care for patients in the Emergency Room.
• Participate in patient and family teaching.
• Provide leadership by collaborating with ancillary nursing and other patient care team members.
• Maintain professional nursing standards in the clinical setting.
• Ensure patient rights and privacy are protected.
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards as defined by the ANA Code for Nurses, ANA Nursing’s Social Policy Statement, State of Michigan Public Health Code, and Specialty Nursing Standards of Clinical Practice.
• Comply with regulatory agency standards including American Osteopathic Association (AOA), Healthcare Finance Administration (HCFA), and Michigan Occupational Health and Safety (MIOSHA).
• Responsible for individual competence in nursing practice and accountable for personal actions and judgments.

Patient Population & Work Environment

• Patient population ranges from newborn to geriatric.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients.
• EMR system used: Paragon.
• Bed capacity: 10 beds.
• Dress code: Blue scrubs.
• Emergency Department provides 24/7 coverage for minor to severe injuries and illnesses.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Michigan.
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required.
• ENPC certification accepted in place of PALS.

Additional Information

• Night shift position.
• Emergency Department team includes physicians, nurses, technicians, and support staff providing emergent treatment around the clock.
