Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) - Temp
Location: St. Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
An Occupational Therapy Assistant supports the Occupational Therapist in conducting therapy treatments to improve patients’ mobility and physical health. Key responsibilities include:
- Helping patients perform exercises or treatment plans
- Recording patients’ health progress and collecting medical history
- Treating patients with therapeutic and self-care activities
- Monitoring patient progress to ensure successful treatment completion
- Encouraging patients during their recovery process
- Assisting injured employees to improve motor skills for workforce re-entry
- Teaching patients with disabilities to become more independent
- Updating patient records for the Occupational Therapist
- Maintaining the office, treatment room, and equipment
- Teaching patients, family members, or caregivers skills and techniques to support treatment programs
Required Qualifications
- Active Missouri Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) License (or Compact license)
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- 2 years of OT/COTA experience highly preferred
- Long Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation experience highly preferred
- Resume submission required
- COTA skills checklist from within the last year required
- 0-1 supervisory reference from within the last year required

- Experience working with both acute and chronically ill patients is valued
- Position involves working in a long-term care setting during day shifts
