Sleep Disorders Technician - Contract Position

Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Facility: Sanford Medical Center (Sanford Health system)
Employment Type: Contract Clinician
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Perform diagnostic sleep testing including all PAP therapy titration
• Patient check-in, room setup, patient hookup, charting, and equipment cleaning
• Work exclusively in a 10-bed Sleep Lab (2 beds designated for pediatric testing)
• Located in a hospital outpatient department, off-campus from the main hospital

Equipment & Systems

• Computerized charting
• Natus XLTech Sleep Works software
• ResMed S9 Devices

Required Qualifications

• Sleep Tech trained with a minimum of 1 year experience
• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Schedule & Work Environment

• Night shifts only, Sunday through Thursday
• 12-hour shifts
• Employee will not work alone
• No on-call required
• No floating to other units or departments
• Secured entrance, flat lot parking immediately outside
• No cafeteria on site

Patient Care Ratios

• 2:1 tech to patient ratio for most patients
• 1:1 tech to patient ratio for patients younger than 3 years old

Orientation & Training

• Modified EMR training provided
• One shift orientation with another sleep tech

Additional Notes

• Limited scoring during data collection
• Located in the lower level of a clinic building separate from the main hospital
