Position Details
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours (must be specified on submission)
- Number of Openings: 1
- Weekend Hours: As required by facility
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: None
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Orientation: Night shift orients on day shift and must be available the entire week
Licensure & Certifications
- Required Licensure: Current RN license eligible for or licensed in Missouri
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) — all from American Heart Association only
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) — may be submitted without but must be obtained prior to start
Experience Requirements
- Years of Experience:
- Minimum 1 year in Emergency Department at a Level 1 Trauma Center OR
- 2 years in a Level 2 Trauma facility (must be indicated on resume)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Unit Information
- Department: Emergency Department (Level 1 Trauma, Stroke, STEMI, and Regional Burn Center)
- Number of Beds: 68
- Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1; may vary during surge or other circumstances
- EMR System: EPIC
- Patient Volume: 200+ patients/day, high acuity environment
- Preferred Experience: Trauma and pediatric experience preferred
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize care and comfort
- Maintain professional accountability and patient confidentiality
- Utilize nursing process consistent with Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards
- Work in a busy urban trauma center environment
Physical & Working Conditions
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Lift and push patients on stretchers and wheelchairs
- Work in a clean, air-conditioned environment
- Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling

- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required from November 1 to April 1; declinations not accepted
- Dress code: Black scrubs; unprofessional attire such as jeans not allowed
