Position Details

• Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours (must be specified on submission)
• Number of Openings: 1
• Weekend Hours: As required by facility
• Call Requirements: None

• Block Schedule: Not accommodated
• Orientation: Night shift orients on day shift and must be available the entire week

Licensure & Certifications

• Required Licensure: Current RN license eligible for or licensed in Missouri
• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) — all from American Heart Association only
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) — may be submitted without but must be obtained prior to start

Experience Requirements

• Years of Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year in Emergency Department at a Level 1 Trauma Center OR
  • 2 years in a Level 2 Trauma facility (must be indicated on resume)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Unit Information

• Department: Emergency Department (Level 1 Trauma, Stroke, STEMI, and Regional Burn Center)
• Number of Beds: 68
• Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1; may vary during surge or other circumstances
• EMR System: EPIC
• Patient Volume: 200+ patients/day, high acuity environment
• Preferred Experience: Trauma and pediatric experience preferred

Job Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize care and comfort
• Maintain professional accountability and patient confidentiality
• Utilize nursing process consistent with Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards
• Work in a busy urban trauma center environment

Physical & Working Conditions

• Stand and walk most of the shift
• Lift and push patients on stretchers and wheelchairs
• Work in a clean, air-conditioned environment
• Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling

• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required from November 1 to April 1; declinations not accepted
• Dress code: Black scrubs; unprofessional attire such as jeans not allowed
