Position Overview

Seeking a Histology Technologist to join the Lab Services team. The role involves working in a busy, fast-paced environment with a positive, can-do attitude and the ability to provide a memorable experience for patients.

Unit Information

• Unit: Main Laboratory, 3rd floor
• Number of Beds: 406
• Staffing:

  • 1 supervisor and 4 laboratory assistants on day shift
  • 3 laboratory assistants on evening shift
  • 2 laboratory assistants on night shift
• Equipment: Mobilab (hand-held collection device)
• EMR: Meditech LIS

Required Skills & Experience

• Certifications: ASCP Certification required
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in Histology specialty
• Must Have:

  • Proficient in phlebotomy
• Preferred:

  • Specimen processing experience
  • Experience with Mobilab or similar hand-held collection devices
  • Experience with Meditech LIS

Typical Procedures

• Venipuncture
• Specimen processing
• Specimen receipt and accessioning using Meditech
