• New 30-bed critical access hospital with:

  • Three operating rooms
  • Dedicated endoscopy and radiology spaces
  • 17-bed emergency department with two trauma bays
• Outpatient services include wound clinic, full laboratory, digital mammography, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, and therapy services (physical, occupational, speech)
• Recognized as an Acute Stroke Ready hospital with multiple stroke and diabetes care honors
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Cerner

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Acute Care, Med Surg / Step Down / ICU
• Location: 2nd Floor
• Number of Beds: 30
• Staffing (Day Shift): 4-5 RNs, 2-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCT)
• Staffing (Night Shift): 4-5 RNs, 2-3 PCTs
• Patient Ratios:

  • Med Surg: 6:1 (occasionally 7:1)
  • ICU/Step Down: 4:1 (more step down patients than ICU)
• Typical Procedures:

  • Thoracentesis
  • Ventilator management
  • Arterial lines (A lines)
  • Central lines
  • Dressing changes

Candidate Requirements

• Must have:

  • ICU or Step Down/Progressive Care experience
  • At least 1 prior travel assignment
• Preferred:

  • ICU experience
• Personality Fit:

  • Outgoing
  • Strong teamwork skills

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Work Schedule & Dress Code

• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend and on-call expectations: Minimum every other weekend
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs

• 13 weeks
