Job Opportunity: RN - Rehab (Travel)

Location: Salem, Virginia
Unit: Inpatient Rehab (Main 4E)
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in hospital setting (Med/Surg or PCU experience required)
• Licenses: Virginia RN License or Compact License at submission
• Certifications: BLS required
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Unit & Patient Information

• Unit Type: Inpatient Rehabilitation
• Number of Beds: 35
• Patient Ratios: 5-7 patients per nurse
• Staffing: 2-4 techs per census, unit secretaries available
• Equipment Used: Vitals machine, Baxter IV pumps, SCDs, Bladder scanner
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend
• Floating Policy: May float to other Med Surg departments
• Preferred Experience: Rehab experience preferred but not required
• Advanced Skills Needed: None specified

Procedures Performed on Unit

• Medication administration including IVs, PICC lines, PEG tube administration
• Bladder scans, tracheostomy care
• Tube feeding, Foley catheter care, bladder irrigation
• Blood administration

Work Environment

• Collaborative multidisciplinary team including Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Physiatrist, Physician Assistant, and Neuropsychologist
• Dress code: Navy blue or white solid scrubs
