Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Assignment

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (1830 - 0700)
Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
Weekend and Call: As required by facility


Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience in adult critical care and high-volume emergency department (ED) with trauma exposure. The role involves providing respiratory care across multiple hospital units including SICU, CCU, CVICU, ED, Neuro, and Trauma.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Missouri
  • Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Experience in adult critical care

Preferred Qualifications

  • PALS certification
  • Experience with blood gas draw, processing (GEM analyzer), and interpretation

Unit and Patient Information

  • Licensed for 767 beds
  • Patient ratios determined by a point system based on staffing
  • Equipment includes Avea ventilators, LTV transport ventilators, V60 Bipap, Bellavista ventilator (incoming), Vapotherm, and Airvo for high flow oxygen therapy
  • Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC
  • Patient population includes respiratory patients across critical care units and trauma services
  • Pediatric patients are stabilized in the ED and transferred to a separate facility

Work Environment and Expectations

  • Strong, confident therapist with good time management skills
  • Willingness to assist coworkers as time allows
  • Facility dress code requires black scrubs only (Mercy standard)
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1 (declinations not accepted)
