Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Travel Assignment

Location: Carlsbad, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM), floating and call required
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

Provide general medical-surgical inpatient nursing care.
Patient ratio typically 1:6.
Occasional care of non-critical pediatric patients on the floor.
Floating and call duties required; call only occurs for census flex prior to scheduled shifts if census is low.
EMR system used: MedHost.
Scrub color: Any color allowed.
Blocked scheduling may be accommodated (must be specified in submission).
No 48-hour guarantees.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New Mexico
Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
BLS certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

This is a general med-surg nursing role with some pediatric exposure.
Candidates must be prepared for floating and occasional call.
The fingerprinting process can take several weeks; only submit if agency is registered with New Mexico for this process.

Cons

Oil field so renting or hotel rooms are expensive. Patient population is a lot of drug and alcohol withdrawal patients. Minimal drops minimal vents.
