Overview

• Night shift PCU RN role in Omaha, Nebraska
• 13-week contract
• 12-hour nights, 36 hours per week
• Unit has 35 beds
• Patient mix includes adults and geriatrics with cardiac, nephrology, strokes, DM, and continuous EEG monitoring

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• 2 years as an RN
• 1 year of unit experience
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• Driver’s license required at submittal
• Must be able to titrate drips

Schedule

• Shifts: 0630-1900 and 1830-0700
• Every other weekend required
• Every third holiday required
• No call or standby

Float Scope

• May float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab

Unit Details

• Charge nurse on each shift
• Nurse aides/patient care techs on the unit, with ratios of 1:10 or 2:20
• Common titratable or set-rate drips include Cardizem, betablockers, and seizure medications
• First week is onboarding, followed by 1-2 days of orientation on the floor

Additional Notes

• Fast-paced floor
• Helpful traits include a positive attitude, helping others, good communication skills, critical thinking, and problem solving
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• RTO must be provided upfront; up to 7 days total per 13-week contract
• Candidate may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
