Overview

• Travel contract in Northridge, California
• 13-week assignment
• 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week
• Unit: Speech

Required Qualifications

• Active BLS certification
• CA License
• 2 full years of experience
• CCC-SLP is required for Speech

Preferred

• Travel experience
• Trauma experience
• Experience with bedside swallow studies
• Video swallowing studies experience

Clinical Setting / Patient Population

• Outpatient: up to 9 patients per day
• Inpatient: up to 13 patients per day
• Rehab: varies
• Inpatient population does not include NICU, pediatrics, PICU, ER, or ICU
• Common speech patient types include stroke, TBI, neuro, trauma, cognitive impairments, and swallowing difficulties
• Rehab population includes neuro, spinal cord injuries, and trauma

Schedule / Assignment Details

• Weekend requirement varies
• Holidays are not required
• May cover the assigned area and potentially float to other areas
• Possible outpatient and inpatient coverage, depending on the requisition
• Typical shifts are 8 hours, with start times that vary
• Possible schedule examples include Wed-Sun or Thu-Mon
• Floor-specific orientation is about 1.5 days
• Cerner training is provided during orientation if needed

Additional Notes

• Rehab aides/OTA/PTA are usually available to assist in rehab
• Scrub requirements: maroon polo shirt, dark colored pants, closed-toe shoes; lab coat optional
