CT Technologist Position - Nebraska
Location
- Omaha, Nebraska
Job Type
- Night shift
- 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform quality CT exams across all procedures offered by the department, including:
- Neuro, Body, MSK scans
- CT Angiographies (CTAs)
- Interventional Radiology procedures (biopsies, ablations, drain removals)
- 3D reformats, colonography, enterography, urograms
- Trauma scans
- Dual energy CT understanding
- Maintain scan times favorable to benchmarks and team standards
- Perform quality assurance (QA) tasks
- Ensure department is stocked and compliant with standards
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, families, students, and healthcare personnel
- May float to other locations within the CT department under the same manager
Equipment Used
- GE CT scanners (8 total: 4 units 256-slice, 3 units 64-slice, 1 unit 16-slice)
- EPIC EMR system
- McKesson PACS
- Bar Code Medication Administration system
Required Qualifications
- State of Nebraska Medical Radiographer License
- ARRT Certified Radiologic Technologist (R) and CT Technologist (CT)
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Level 1 trauma center experience preferred
- Hospital experience preferred
- Proficient with computers, including basic navigation and email applications
- Ability to communicate effectively, multi-task, and handle challenging customer interactions with appropriate escalation
- Experience with GE equipment preferred
Orientation and Training
- 6-week orientation for outside candidates, including:
- Training at various locations
- Assigned preceptor for education and protocol consistency
- IV line education and department-specific processes
- Mid-point progress check at 3 weeks
Additional Information
- Dress code: Red scrubs or red t-shirt with department emblem
- Call required, including holidays as scheduled
- Floating within CT department locations expected
- 100-mile local radius restriction for candidates
- Call-off policy allows up to 36 hours off every 13 weeks
- 12 hours of non-billable orientation; guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
