Registered Nurse (LDRP)

Location: Dickinson, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day/Night rotation
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Scheduling: Block scheduling
Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
Holiday Requirement: As needed, depending on availability
Floating: Required to float to Medical-Surgical/ED for patient support, primarily 1:1 patient care

Unit Details

• Labor & Delivery/Postpartum unit with 4 L&D beds and 7 postpartum beds
• Patient population: Mothers >35 weeks in labor and mother/baby couplets
• Neonatal respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow vents (RNs troubleshoot only)
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring system: OB Trace Vue
• Surgery team manages C-sections; nurses circulate for the baby
• Rural hospital setting with NICU located over 1 hour away
• Emphasis on teamwork, provider consistency, clinical knowledge, independence, and communication

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of LDRP nursing experience required
• RNs must be able to titrate drips including Magnesium, Oxytocin, LR, Zofran, and postpartum medications such as prenatal vitamins, Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, Percocet, and Toradol
• Charge nurse present on each shift and takes an assignment

Orientation & Training

• Unit-specific orientation: 3 shifts of 12 hours each

Additional Requirements & Notes

• Fit testing required; facial hair may disqualify candidates if unable to pass fit test (no on-site PAPR available for facial hair)
• Radius rule: Candidates must live within 50 miles and cannot be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any related healthcare system facilities
• Return to Office (RTO) required within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO approvals after submission
• Scrubs provided
