Registered Nurse — Emergency Department

Location

• Peoria, Illinois

Contract

• 26 weeks
• Local placements accepted within 50 miles

Schedule

• 12-hour evening shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required every other holiday or based on department needs
• No call requirement
• Floating is rare; if floated, the nurse would serve as a help-all on another unit

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS
• ACLS
• ENPC or PALS
• TNCC or TNS
• Must produce a negative drug screen for all panels

Experience

• 2 years of nursing experience preferred
• At least 1 prior travel assignment preferred

Clinical Setting

• Level 1 emergency department
• 65 beds, all private
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3–5, depending on acuity and department needs

Additional Notes

• Travelers may care for stabilized trauma patients after transfer out of the trauma bay
• ED nurses should be able to interpret and act on cardiac rhythms
• Nurses and techs draw labs
• Scrubs: no specific color required; tasteful scrubs with solid-colored shirts underneath
