Location

Job Description
- Float between PCU, Telemetry, and Med Surg units.
- Care for inpatients including those holding in the Emergency Department.
- Units include East and West campuses with various patient populations (ICU, stepdown, MedSurg, Tele).
- Nurse-to-patient ratios:
- PCU: 1:4
- MedSurg/Telemetry: 1:5-6
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years experience in Med Surg and Telemetry combined.
- Minimum 1 year experience specifically in PCU.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Current Arizona RN license.
- ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with a minimum score of 80% within two attempts prior to contract signing.
Clinical Skills & Responsibilities
- Comfortable titrating drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin.
- Ability to interpret cardiac monitor strips (RNs read strips; monitor techs present on PCU and MedSurg Tele).
- Experience caring for geriatric, orthopedic, post-procedural cardiac patients (post MI, post cardiac cath, CABG post-op days 3-4).
- Use of respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and heated high flow oxygen in PCU and MedSurg.
- Work with nurse aides who assist on the units.
- Charge nurses present but do not take patient assignments.
Scheduling & Work Environment
- Shifts: 12-hour shifts, 7am-7pm (AM and PM).
- Schedule published 6 weeks in advance for 4-week blocks.
- Night shift may allow block scheduling.
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend.
- Holiday coverage included in permanent staff rotation.
- No call or standby requirements.
- Unit assignments communicated by text message 2 hours before shift start.
- Travel between campuses is approximately 20-25 minutes.
- Dress code: solid color professional scrubs; transitioning to navy scrubs per Dignity guidelines.
Orientation
- 8-hour general hospital orientation day.
- 12-hour orientation shifts on West MedTele and PCU units.
- East campus orientation similar but smaller.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Prior Travel Experience
- Not explicitly required.

Cost of living is High, roughly $2000-2500 for your own private space. Float between East and West Campus, 25 minutes apart, west will likely be where you spend 75% of your shifts so pick your housing accordingly.
