Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist

Location: Williston, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Work with patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric across all hospital areas including inpatient, outpatient, ER, rehab, and sleep lab.
  • Level IV trauma center environment with stroke and trauma stabilization until patient transfer.
  • Assist with complicated neonatal deliveries and C-section cases.
  • Perform routine respiratory therapy treatments on medical/surgical floors and assist with EKGs.
  • Ventilated patients are transferred out of the facility.
  • The ER sees 60+ patients daily and delivers an average of 58 babies per month.
  • Typically, only one respiratory therapist is staffed per shift, so you may be the sole RT in-house.

Schedule & Work Conditions

  • Shifts: 3x12 hour shifts (6 AM - 6 PM) plus 12-hour call after shift worked.
  • Scheduling: Team scheduling with options for blocked scheduling based on need.
  • Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends, every other weekend off.
  • Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday.
  • Orientation: 3 shifts (12 hours each) with another RT.
  • Scrubs: Green generally; any color allowed on Fridays.

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) verification.
  • North Dakota state respiratory therapy license.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.

Experience & Skills

  • Must be able to work with all patient populations and ages, including neonatal patients.
  • Experience in a trauma center or similar acute care setting preferred.
  • Ability to handle a variety of respiratory therapy treatments and assist with EKGs.

Additional Information

  • No clinical involvement outside of respiratory therapy duties.
  • Equipment used includes Airvo, PB 840 Vent, PB 980 Vent, LVT 1200 portable vent, Hamilton G-5, V-60 Respironics, BirdBlenders.
  • Radius rule: Candidates must not have worked full time, part time, or PRN within the past 12 months at any related facilities within 50 miles.
  • Return to office (RTO) required upfront; no additional RTO approved after submission.
