Registered Nurse (Emergency Room) - Minnesota

Job Overview

• Location: Grand Rapids, Minnesota (rural northern Minnesota)
• Facility: Small, independent, multi-specialty hospital with recent renovations
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days and/or nights, or strictly nights
• Shift Length: 12-hour shifts
• Hours per Week: 36 hours
• Weekend Requirement: Work 3 out of 4 weekends
• Start Date: ASAP

Unit Details

• Emergency Room: 10 beds
• Intensive Care Unit (ICU): 4 beds (rural ICU, step down from metro ICU)
• Patient Population: Newborn to 101 years old
• Hospital Designations: Acute Stroke Ready, Level 3 Trauma
• Annual Patient Volume: Approximately 17,000
• ICU Procedures: Arterial lines, central venous pressure (CVP) interventions, BiPAP, ventilators
• Note: No Cath Lab procedures; patients requiring these are transferred out

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required upon hire; NIHSS, TNCC, and PALS preferred
• Experience: Minimum 2 years combined Emergency Room and ICU experience
