Registered Nurse (CVOR) - Travel Assignment

Job Details

• Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days
• Hours: 10-hour shifts, approximately 40 hours per week
• Call: Overnight call once a week; staff required to cover 3 weekend days per month (1.5 weekends)
• Weekend Requirement: No regular weekends; 1 weekend call per month
• Holidays: Rotate with core staff
• Orientation: 1-2 days floor-specific orientation in OR with preceptor
• Work Environment: Very busy, fast-paced OR with 4 suites; 4-6 surgeries per day (CABG, valve surgeries, all heart surgeries except thoracic)
• EMR System: Cerner
• Telemetry: Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips
• Ventilator Patients: Yes, but not required
• Support Staff: Charge nurse oversees overall OR; nurse aides are CSTs; RT and pharmacy available 24/7; surgeon available during regular hours and on call overnight/weekends
• Scrub Color: Provided

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of CVOR nursing experience (higher experience requirement applies)
• Active California RN license
• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications
• Ability to scrub for 10-hour shifts
• Strong CVOR skills and confidence in the role
• First-time travelers are accepted (prior travel experience not required)
• Must provide 2 supervisory references at time of submittal (1 within past 12 months, 1 within past 3 years)

Additional Notes

• This is a critical need position requiring an RN who can scrub for extended shifts
• The role involves floating first to other areas as needed
