Respiratory Therapist - Colorado, Lakewood

Position Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days
• Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
• Work Setting: Inpatient adult care
• Patient Population: Adults only
• Scheduling:

  • Potential for every other weekend or more if willing
  • Holiday coverage as needed
  • No call or standby call required
  • Must never be the only Respiratory Therapist in-house
  • No floating requirements

Job Responsibilities

• Provide all respiratory modalities throughout the hospital, including:

  • Medication delivery
  • Emergency response
  • Assist with intubation (not independently)
  • Ventilator management (both invasive and non-invasive)
  • Arterial blood gases (ABGs)
  • Pulmonary hygiene and hyperinflation therapy
  • Transport of critically ill patients with artificial airway
  • Home oxygen assessment and coordination

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC
• Colorado state respiratory therapy license
• ACLS (American Heart Association)
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• PALS (American Heart Association)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Respiratory Therapist

Additional Information

• Orientation week requires clinician to be in-state, even if some modules are remote
• Radius requirement: Must submit valid driver’s license within 60 miles

• Hospitalist or Intensivist coverage always present during shift hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM every other week)
• Dress code: Black pants and wine-colored top

This role is suited for experienced Respiratory Therapists comfortable with a broad scope of respiratory care in an inpatient adult setting, including emergency and ventilator management, with required certifications and state licensure.
