Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - Infusion Services

Location: Bluffton, South Carolina
Specialty: Lab - Infusion Services
Contract Length: 12 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Work Week: 40 hours, no call requirements
Start Date: ASAP
Holidays: Office closed on holidays; hours not guaranteed during those weeks

Position Summary

• Perform clinical laboratory testing using complex instruments with speed and accuracy.
• Knowledgeable of laboratory test procedures, automated processes, and age-dependent calculations/indicators.
• Testing performed on adult patient specimens.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments.
• Participate in educational and training activities.
• Adhere to current legal, ethical, and professional standards in clinical laboratory science.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) via AMT certification required.
• ASCP certification preferred.
• AAB certification not accepted.
• Proficient in phlebotomy; able to collect 30-50 patients daily.
• Ability to multitask and work independently.
• Strong customer service skills; energetic and forward-facing patient interaction.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in:

  • High volume laboratory settings
  • Emergency Department STAT lab environment
  • 350+ bed hospital setting
  • Oncology private practice experience is ideal but not required

Technical Skills

• Experience with EMR systems: ARIA and Meditech
• Experience with laboratory analyzer: Sysmex XN

Additional Information

• Scrubs: Dark blue top and green bottoms
• No BLS certification required
• Position is within Infusion Services Lab
