Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor Pool

Location: Albany, Georgia
Contract Length: 17 weeks (approximately 4 months)
Shift: Day shifts, 12-hour shifts starting at 06:45
Unit: Labor Pool (Med/Surg with floating to Ortho/Neuro, Oncology, Acute Care, and JFW)


Job Description

  • Position involves working in a Labor Pool with assignments primarily on Med/Surg units.
  • Nurses will float to various specialties including Ortho/Neuro, Oncology, Acute Care, and JFW.
  • Telemetry monitoring is required on different units.
  • Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6.
  • Nurse aides/CNAs support with ratios generally 1:8 to 1:10, sometimes pulling 1:1 or sitters.
  • Weekend requirement: every other weekend.
  • On-call requirement for low census.
  • Holiday shifts rotate with permanent staff.
  • Floating between units during shifts is expected; flexibility with changing assignments is required.
  • Floor-specific orientation provided.

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • ASLS (Advanced Stroke Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) — required for ICU/ED; for Med/Surg, BLS plus ASLS or NIHSS

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of nursing experience without prior travel assignments, OR
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience plus completion of at least 1 prior travel assignment (prior travel experience required if less than 4 years).

Additional Information

  • Experience with Meditech EMR system preferred.
  • Charge nurse role available across all units.
  • Ventilator experience includes BIPAP, CPAP (only at higher specialty units), vapotherm, and Draeger.
  • IV team available, including PICC line support.
  • Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services available 24/7.
  • OB/Neonatologist coverage available in-house.
  • C-section experience is not required.
  • Scrub color: Caribbean Blue.
