Cardiac Cath Lab RN

Overview

• 12-week contract
• 8-hour day shifts
• Call is required
• Based in Bryan, Texas
• Float scope includes Bryan Campus and CS Campus

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
• 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience
• Electrophysiology Lab experience
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Driver's License
• Must be able to circulate cases
• Must be independent after 2 orientation shifts
• Copy of driver’s license is needed at time of submittal to validate legal name; the profile name must match a government-issued ID and must not include a middle initial or middle name
• Must not have been directly employed, full time, part time, or PRN, by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year

Assignment Details

• 4 cath labs, with 3 rooms typically running at one time
• Typical volume is 5–7 cases per day, with up to 15 cases in a day
• Performs EP cases, including ICDs, Pacemakers, and Ablations (A-Flutter, SVT, A-Fib)
• Performs peripheral and neuro cases
• Does not do specials/IR
• RNs circulate cases and monitor cases
• GE MacLab/Combo Lab Hemodynamic Monitoring System is used
• Cardiac, Peripheral, Neuro, and Traumatic embolization patient care
• 3 days of orientation to the unit
• Call is approximately 10–11 days per month, including 1 weekend
• Call response time is 30 minutes
