Job Opportunity: Sterile Processing Technician

Location: Grand Junction, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

Join the Sterile Processing team to support safe, high-quality surgical care by ensuring surgical instruments and environments meet the highest standards of safety and readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and distribute designated supplies to assigned areas
  • Ensure all equipment and instruments are available and ready for each surgical case
  • Decontaminate, clean, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments following AMMI recommended practices
  • Complete and verify accuracy of instrument count sheets
  • Assist OR staff in locating and preparing instruments as needed
  • Maintain permanent sterilization records per regulatory standards
  • Reestablish a clean and safe environment post-procedure, including room and equipment turnover
  • Prepare and maintain surgical supplies and specialty equipment (e.g., laryngoscope blades, tubing, filters, ultrasound, fluid/blood warmers, specialty pumps)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent Sterile Processing experience required
  • Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CBSPD or IAHCSMM) preferred
  • Current BLS certification preferred

Shift

Full-Time Night Shift, variable shifts with possible weekend coverage
